Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

Eric Layman, Evidential Medium LLC, d/b/a Eric Layman, Evidential Medium (the “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to the “Site” (www.ericlayman.com) and the “Service,” meaning the services we offer through the Site: private readings and sittings, and educational classes, workshops, and mentorship.

By using the Site or the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.

I. Information We Collect

A. Information you provide directly

When you book an appointment, register for a class or event, join our mailing list, or contact us, we may ask for:

  • Full name
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Mailing address
  • Preferred gender (if you choose to share it)
  • Age or date of birth
  • Any other details you include in a message to us

We do not collect or store full credit card, debit card, or bank account numbers ourselves. Payment details are entered directly into a checkout page operated by Wix.com or Stripe, Inc., our payment processors, and are transmitted directly to them. See “Payment Information” in Section V.

B. Practice Circle membership

Practice Circle sessions are purchased as credits through Wix.com. If you create an account to manage your credits and bookings, your account and profile information is stored securely through Wix. You may view, update, or request deletion of your profile data at any time by emailing info@ericlayman.com.

C. Information collected automatically

See Section IV, “Cookies and Similar Technologies.”

II. How We Use Your Information

  • To schedule and provide readings, classes, events, and other Services
  • To process payments through Wix and Stripe
  • To communicate with you about appointments, orders, and customer service requests
  • To send you marketing and promotional emails about future events, classes, and offers — which you may opt out of at any time
  • For internal demographic analysis: we may use information such as age range and preferred gender, in the aggregate or alongside other client data, to understand our client base and plan future marketing and promotions. We do not sell this information to unrelated third parties for their own marketing use.

III. Who We Share Information With

We do not sell your Personal Information. We share it only as needed to run the Site and Service, or as required by law:

  • Wix.com, Inc. — our site’s bookings, checkout, contact-form submissions, and marketing/subscriber list are stored and managed in Wix’s backend. See Wix’s Privacy Policy at wix.com/about/privacy.
  • GoDaddy (hosting) / Netlify, Inc. — hosts our website and, as part of normal web hosting, logs basic connection data (such as IP address, browser type, and access times) for security and performance.
  • Stripe, Inc. — processes Year-Long Mentorship Program payments and performs fraud screening as part of that. See Section V, “Payment Information,” and Stripe’s Privacy Policy at stripe.com/privacy.

We do not currently use analytics or advertising tools such as Google Analytics or Meta Pixel on this Site. If we begin using such tools in the future, this Policy will be updated to reflect that before they are activated.

We may also disclose information if required by law or legal process, to enforce our Terms of Service, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our clients, or the public.

IV. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our Site currently uses only strictly necessary cookies — for example, to keep you signed in or remember items in a booking flow. We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If that changes, we will add a cookie consent tool and update this section before any non-essential cookies are set.

Do Not Track: Some web browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. We currently do not respond to Do Not Track signals.

V. Payment Information

Most payments for readings and classes are processed by Wix.com through Wix Payments. The Year-Long Mentorship Program’s deposit and installment payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We never see or store your full card number, CVV, or bank account number ourselves — those go directly to our payment processor over an encrypted connection.

On our behalf, our payment processors collect and retain information such as your name, email address, billing address, card network/type and the last four digits of your card, and the transaction amount and date, as part of standard fraud-prevention screening. Their handling of this data is governed by their own privacy policies (wix.com/about/privacy and stripe.com/privacy).

VI. Children’s Privacy

The Site and Service are intended for adults. We do not knowingly provide the Service to, collect Personal Information from, or allow registration by, anyone under 18, consistent with the federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and our own policy.

If you believe we have collected information from a child without appropriate consent, contact us at info@ericlayman.com and we will delete it promptly.

VII. Your Choices and Rights

  • Marketing opt-out: every promotional email includes an unsubscribe link, or you may email us directly.
  • Access, correction, or deletion: wherever you live, you may ask us what Personal Information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing info@ericlayman.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.
  • California residents: the categories of Personal Information described in Section I are the categories we collect and have collected in the preceding 12 months, for the purposes described in Section II. We do not sell or share Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising. This notice is intended to satisfy the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA).
  • Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and similar states: to the extent applicable law gives you rights to access, correct, delete, or port your Personal Information, or to opt out of targeted advertising, you may exercise those rights by emailing info@ericlayman.com.

VIII. International Clients

If you are located outside the United States, the following applies in addition to Section VII.

Your rights: regardless of your country, you may ask us what Personal Information we hold about you, and ask us to correct, delete, or stop using it for marketing, by emailing info@ericlayman.com. We aim to honor these requests for any client, in any country, as a matter of policy — residents of Canada also have the specific legal rights and regulator contact below.

Canada: PIPEDA applies to our handling of Personal Information from Canadian clients, with no small-business exemption. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).

All other countries: if you are located somewhere not listed above, your information will still be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live. The rights described at the start of this section apply to you as well.

IX. How We Protect Your Information

We use reasonable security measures designed to protect your information, including working with vendors (Wix, Stripe, our hosting provider) that maintain their own security and compliance programs. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

X. Data Retention

We keep client contact, appointment, and payment-related records for 7 years after your last interaction with us, to maintain business and tax records and comply with legal obligations, and delete or anonymize records we no longer need for those purposes.

XI. Links to Other Websites

Our Site may link to or include content from other websites or platforms (for example, social media pages). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. This Policy applies only to information we collect directly.

XII. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will note significant changes on this page, and will treat such changes as effective 30 days after posting. Minor clarifications take effect immediately. Please check this page periodically.

XIII. Our Location and Governing Law

The Company is organized under the laws of Ohio. [This section will be updated once the Company’s pending domestication to Florida is complete.] Neither Ohio nor Florida has a general consumer data privacy law that imposes additional obligations on a business of this size. See Section VIII for the additional protections that apply to our clients outside the United States.

XIV. Contact Us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, email us at info@ericlayman.com.
